We are Sakata Seed India Pvt. Ltd. – Farmers’ best friend, harvesting innovation and cultivating happiness across communities. Our journey began in 2003 and took firm root in 2008, when our vision of delivering world-class vegetable and flower seeds across India became a nationwide reality. From a single carefully planted seed, we have grown into a presence that spans Sales & Marketing, Branding & Communication, R&D, Product Development, Breeding, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance, deeply embedded in India’s agricultural landscape.
In 2019, we established the Bengaluru Innovation Center (BIC) to strengthen localized, farmer-centric research, developing climate-resilient, region-specific, and value-added hybrids in collaboration with Sakata’s global R&D network. By 2024, BIC became our corporate headquarters, serving as the heartbeat of innovation, supported by our integrated SMPD teams, who deliver fast solutions, expert guidance, and seamless support – always keeping farmers, customers, and communities at the heart of everything we do.
As we celebrate 18 years of trust in India, we honor the enduring partnerships we’ve built with farmers, customers, and stakeholders. Our Motto
Our company motto consists of just three words. However, these three words—“Quality,” “Reliability,” and “Service”—are filled with our passion. The words of the founder are always with us in our good and bad times at work. “Our mission is very peaceful and the nature of our business contributes to peace and makes people happy.” The company motto created by the founder, Takao Sakata, has been continuously passed down with these words, which were directed to younger employees.
