Lisianthus Crop Tour @ Golden Tulip, Denkanikottai – A Blooming Success Sakata Seed India !

The Lisianthus Crop Tour, held at Golden Tulip, Denkanikottai, in January 2025, was a spectacular showcase of floriculture excellence. Organized by the Sakata team in collaboration with Mr. Gunachitran from Golden Tulip and Mr. Kalidas from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, the event brought together 35–40 female floral designers and professional florists eager to explore the art and science of Lisianthus flower cultivation.

The tour commenced with an insightful introduction to Sakata’s legacy in floriculture, highlighting its diverse and high-quality Lisianthus varieties. To provide a visual treat, the Sakata team guided the attendees through the Lisianthus fields, where they witnessed an exquisite display of vibrant blooms.

Hands-On Floral Creativity

To make the experience interactive, each participant was given a bunch of ten Lisianthus stems in various colors to craft their own floral bouquets. The enthusiasm and creativity of the florists were truly inspiring as they experimented with different floral arrangements. Mr. Kalidas, a seasoned florist, conducted a session on bouquet preparation, demonstrating bud trimming techniques to ensure longevity and aesthetic appeal in floral displays.

Sakata team members, including Mr. Halesh, Mr. Asish, Mr. Shivanna, Mr. Ashok, Ms. Prathibha, and Mr. Pramod, actively engaged in the bouquet-making process, emphasizing the significance of Lisianthus in floral art. The Sogetsu School of Ikebana members showed great interest in Lisianthus flower arrangements, crafting stunning bouquets that culminated in a gorgeous wooden structure adorned with multi-colored Lisianthus blooms.

A Win-Win for Florists and Sakata

By showcasing Lisianthus’ versatility in floral decorations, the event successfully strengthened Sakata and Golden Tulip’s engagement with floral designers and end-users. The interactive sessions helped participants gain a deeper appreciation of Lisianthus flowers, opening avenues for their use in social events, weddings, and theme-based decorations.

Engaging Florists Through a Creative Challenge

To wrap up the event, the florist team took part in a brainstorming session on Lisianthus, where the winner received a potted Lisianthus plant as a special prize. The fusion of Ikebana floristry and Golden Tulip’s expertise created a truly memorable moment, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.

This engaging and immersive experience not only reinforced Sakata’s presence in the floral industry but also provided an excellent platform to introduce Lisianthus to a wider consumer base. The event’s success further strengthens Sakata’s position as a leader in premium floriculture—where innovation meets artistic expression.
