The Lisianthus Day program, took place on July 19, 2022, at Dr. YSR Horticultural University in V R Gudem. It was a one-day seminar that consisted of an Inaugural Session, a Technical Session, and a Valedictory session. The program was organized by Dr. YSR Horticulture University in collaboration with Sakata Seed India Pvt Ltd. and was attended by progressive farmers, KVK Scientists, and the Sakata flower team through a Zoom link.

The Inaugural Session was opened by the Chief Guest, Dr. T. Janakiram, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. YSR Horticultural University, and the Dean of Horticultural College, Dr. A.S. Padmavathamma, as well as a special guest from Sakata Seed India Pvt Ltd, Mr. Lokesh Reddy.

The Technical Session aimed to introduce floriculture as a high-value, export-potential industry, and to promote the novelty of new flowers such as Lisianthus and Ornamental Sunflowers. The seminars covered a variety of topics, from Lisianthus flower cultivation to floriculture supply chain management.

To raise awareness about Lisianthus among children, a painting competition was held with a Lisianthus theme. Approximately 80 school students participated in the competition and prizes were awarded to the top three paintings.

The Valedictory Session was led by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. T. Janakiram, who expressed his appreciation for the successful event and emphasized the importance of conducting such programs to promote floriculture in the region. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Dean of Horticultural College, Dr. A.S. Padmavathamma.
