On June 4, 2025, Sakata Seed India organized an inspiring and impactful event titled the Broccoli Innovation Dialogue in Solapur, Maharashtra, further reinforcing its leadership in the hybrid broccoli segment and advancing a farmer-first vision.

Held under the guidance of Sr. GM & Director, Mr. Ramesh Shiraguppi, the event brought together 55 progressive farmers, including nursery growers and broccoli traders. It served as a powerful platform to showcase Sakata’s strong commitment to health-focused crops, agricultural innovation, and the empowerment of India’s farming community.

At the heart of the gathering was SAKI, Sakata’s flagship broccoli hybrid, which has consistently led the segment with superior performance, quality, and grower satisfaction. The event was not only a technical meeting — it became a celebration of progress, productivity, and the powerful bond between Sakata and its growers.

The event was guided by the regional leadership team, including Mr. Nitinkumar Pangal, ZSM–Maharashtra & Gujarat province, Mr. Shridhar Shirsath, RSM–Maharashtra and our Rajkumar Agro Agencies, Local Distributor. Their insightful presentations offered practical knowledge and field-level strategies for maximizing yield, maintaining quality, and reaching broader markets. The flawless execution was made possible by the dedicated support of Mr. Anil Gaikwad and Mr. Ram Salunke, whose local coordination ensured every participant felt valued and engaged.

A major highlight of the day was the technical training session delivered by the Maharashtra Team. They presented a rich, practical knowledge-sharing segment on broccoli, hybrid vegetables, and premium flower crops like marigold. The interactive format encouraged active farmer participation — with lively Q&A sessions that reflected strong interest and trust in Sakata’s technology. Farmers left the session better equipped to adopt high-yielding hybrids, improve crop management, and enhance their livelihoods through more profitable farming practices.

Adding a touch of hospitality and delight, farmers were served a specially curated lunch that creatively highlighted the versatility of broccoli. Dishes such as Broccoli Tikka Masala Kebab, Seekh Kebabs, and Broccoli Pakoras received enthusiastic praise, reinforcing broccoli not just as a commercial crop, but also as a healthy and tasty superfood.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Kamlesh H. Verma, Head – Creative Branding & Communication, Sakata Head Office, shared an inspiring message on Sakata’s evolving branding and communication approach. He emphasized a renewed focus on connecting directly with farmers, empowering them through clear, relatable, and farmer-centric messaging. He also announced that a digital outreach campaign will soon be launched to engage growers across platforms and bring Sakata innovations closer to farming communities nationwide.

The overwhelming positive response from participants and their growing preference for Sakata’s crop solutions is a testament to the brand’s impact. Farmers’ appreciation of Sakata’s broccoli, hybrid vegetables, and marigold varieties reflects not only product performance but the trust built through years of consistent quality and service.

Looking ahead, Sakata Seed India is confident in scaling its presence across existing and untapped markets. With a sharp focus on brand equity, innovation, and grassroots engagement, Sakata is poised to strengthen its leadership in the vegetable seed industry while fulfilling its purpose: Helping farmers grow better, live healthier, and thrive economically.
